From One Dog’s Pawprint to a Whole Community
Tail Club wasn’t built in a boardroom. It began with a Facebook post — when a rescue pup named Pepper came home in 2016 — and a clueless first-time pet parent (that’s me!) who had no idea what he was signing up for, in the best way possible.
2016: The Paw That Changed It All
Tiny, feisty Pepper came with her mom, Lucy, as a “rescue one, get one” condition of adoption. What followed was a crash course in canine companionship, a breakup with my social life, and a bond that changed everything. Suddenly, I was that guy cooking chicken for his dog — taking her everywhere: to the ATM, the supermarket, coffee runs, and even on long drives across states.
From Sunday Rituals to Big Ideas
Our favourite ritual? Sundays at the dog park. Watching Pepper come alive outdoors, I couldn’t help but wonder — why wasn’t there a space that felt like home for both dogs and their humans? A place to play, socialise, and connect — preferably over a good cup of coffee.
2018: Tail Club Gets Real
And that tiny spark became Tail Club. In July 2018, we opened our gates as a café and dog park, with Pepper as our brand ambassador, mascot, and logo. It was a leap of faith fuelled by love, built with no blueprint except what felt right for our kind of community.
Our Growing Pack
Soon after came Batman — a goofy, desi pup rescued from a drain. “Too desi to be adopted,” they said. But he was way too cool to ignore. Our little gang of three became the heartbeat of Tail Club.
Then, on Christmas Eve 2023, we found Tinkerbell — a tiny, hurt pup lost in the market. Rescuing her felt like a gift straight from Santa. Her little paws left permanent prints on our hearts. And that’s how Pepper, Lucy, Batman, and Tinkerbell became the beautiful pack — the soul of Tail Club.
Still Led by the Pack!
Over time, we grew, adding daycare, night boarding, and a full-fledged grooming studio to our services. But our mission never changed: to create a haven for dogs and their humans. If you’ve read this far, thank you for being here.
